Objective: to provide relevant and up to date information for women about the menopause so that they can make informed decisions about their long-term health. To inform women about the physical, psychological and emotional symptoms of the menopause and how they can manage them; how the symptoms can impact their personal and work relationships; provide access to resources, advice and support.
Week 1: What is happening to me?
Introduction & agenda for programme. This section is about the physical, psychological and emotional symptoms of the menopause all 40 and how the severity of these symptoms is influenced by ethnicity, socio-economic background, diet, etc. Preparing for Doctors and what you need to know,
Treatment Plans: what they are and how to get them?
In this section we will look at HRT Pros & Cons, Herbal remedies and supplements and Alternative therapies to manage the symptoms of the menopause.
Week 2: Mental Health, Mindset and Menopause.
The psychological impact of menopause can be quite a shock, in this section we will look at tools to manage our mental wellbeing during and beyond the menopause. Practical demonstrations of Mindfulness; EFT/Tapping and CBT.
Week 3: Nutrition & Exercise
Our diet is very important and underpins everything. In this section we look at what foods are important for our health. What to eat and when; hydration; what type of exercise is best and how to build a plan that suits you.
Week 4: Menopause and relationships and work.
Menopause doesn’t just impact you but those around you. Our personal relationships and intimacy; this is a very important area as menopause can cause libido issues. Also, how to manage work relationships and performance.
Menopause doesn’t have to be AWFUL! This programme will help you understand:
· What is happening?
· What you can do about it?
· Where to get help & support
· Take control of your menopause and health.
